Niccolò Fino (Bari, 1997) is an Italian percussionist and sound artist whose work spans performance, sound research and multimedia creation.
His musical journey began at the age of six with the guitar, before discovering drums and percussion at ten. This passion led him to earn a degree in Percussion at the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory in Bari under the guidance of Filippo Lattanzi, followed by a post-graduate master’s degree in Contemporary Music Interpretation at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome where he developed the interest in composition and electroacoustic with Mauro Cardi and Pasquale Citera. In 2022, he attended the ManiFeste Academy and Festival at IRCAM in Paris, an experience that deepened his interest in sound art and the interaction between music and technology.
He is currently pursuing studies in Electronic Music Composition at the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory in Bari, further expanding his research into electroacoustic techniques and sound design.
His career has taken him across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, performing both as a soloist and in ensembles in venues such as the Pavel Slobodkin Theatre and Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Galyani Vadhana Concert Hall in Bangkok, Caja Negra in Merida, Le CentQuatre in Paris, Auditorium Niemeyer in Ravello. He has premiered works by composers including Kostantinos Baras, Matteo Franceschini, Csàba Zoltàn Marjàn, Thea Musgrave, Biagio Putignano and Francesco Vitucci.
In recent years, he has developed various projects blending live electroacoustic sets, music theatre, dance and real-time interaction.
Alongside his artistic practice, he is also involved in curating and directing contemporary music initiatives. In 2025, he was named Artistic Director of ALTRI SCENARI, a new electroacoustic art festival focused on multi-channel diffusion systems and collaborative projects, and also founded the Antiphonie Ensemble, dedicated to contemporary music and active collaboration with emerging composers.
His orchestral experience includes collaborations with the Haydn Orchestra, the Teatro Petruzzelli Orchestra, the Milan Symphony Orchestra, as well as contemporary music ensembles and laboratories such as MDI Ensemble, Divertimento Ensemble, LEAP – Laboratorio Elettroacustico Permanente and Nouveau Son Ensemble.
In addition to his performance career, he is dedicated to teaching and has given masterclasses at institutions such as the Universidad de las Artes de Yucatán (UNAY, Mexico) and the Escuela Municipal de Artes Integradas (EMAI, Costa Rica), while also teaching percussion solo and chamber repertoire in his studio.
